Just do it at an LTSA testing station or something. I did it with mine when I did the change of ownership and she extended the exemption for me.

darkwolf, is ownership in your name now?

i've always extended my reg on hold status online and never had a problem doing it before its actually due.

I had a lot of messing around to do when I changed ownership as the person at the post shop had no idea what they were doing :x

Note that through that website you can put rego on hold without having to pay anything... you just have to provide you drivers licence details and address etc.
