Mine definately sounds like it comes from left side. Are you getting FL done too?

are you sure its not your exhaust banging , hop under the car and wobble your exhaust from side to side in different places and see if it bangs . i know of 4 other people, who had been told wheel bearing but in the end it was the exhaust rattling and only at certain rpm . Mine was the exhaust, and i got told everything from hanger bearing to wheel bearing.

yeah definately not that, had that problem when I had the exhaust done and was sorted out. And that would flex under load and hit something, my noise is under decelleration

my LR wheel bearing went ages ago

also i had a knocking noise, worse in wet, worse when turning left from memory, under accelleration - was driveshaft hitting exhaust

check your exhaust manifold heat shield has the bolts done up tight - ive seen that making noises before

also check to see if youve got a pod filter/bov/amp fuse etc knocking around in the engine bay somewhere (also check its not hitting/rubbing on the bonnet when its closed)

I have all of those things but the noise follows engine rpm exactly so not so sure it would be

i had it checked at pit stop, def not exhaust they said. Got it up on hoist and couldnt replicated the noise under deceleration, definately sounds like it's coming from te front left. It is either gonna be the wheel bearing or an inner cv. i can only hear it under deceleration but cant hear it until the car has warmed up a bit like 3 or 4 minutes. im selling mine and it's going in for an aa check. All the mechanics that have checked it (4 now) all said that if i didnt tell them about the noise they probably never would have heard it as it is quite faint. But it does go away if i turn even slightly to the right or i put the clutch in. Im convinced from what i have read it's FL wheel bearing and i have told the dude all about it. so well see what aa says tommorrow

Sorry to drag up a old thread but my wagon is making funny noises that maybe related to this.

Its only noticable on super smooth roads (i.e hotmix) and at 30-50km/h

It sounds like a toned down version of when you drive on those small bump/ripple strips that you occasionaly find on corners (kaimai's are a good one if you know what im talking about?)

idea's? im going to check if anythings rubbing this weekend. i know it rubs on full lock and my suspension is stuffed.

Charade wheel bearings = $40 a pair. (not inc labour). Depends on the type of bearing though.

Price from toyota (inc discount) is $195+gst for each front, $395+gst for each rear... i'd be happy to own a charade at this point!

I can't be bothered reading the whole thread but noise could be gear back lash on manual transmission.
My ST165 does it (ST205 g/box), it is due to clutch with heavier centre springs.
Also very common with solid clutches/multi-plate clutches.
It would come as a rattle (similar to say a loose heat shield but slightly lower pitch), when decelerating in the gear. Press in the clutch noise goes away.
A lot of rally cars do that as well (obviously why).
Sometimes it could be heard in neutral while car is idling, if you press the gear stick gently into a gear but not engaging the clutch and not engaging the gear, the noise will go away while the synchros are preloaded.
