Not sure if same thread though

if there the same as mr2 style oil cooler blocks it will have a one sided thread not double. same to 20v ones.

the one pictured is from the angled adaptor plate on the silvertop 20v. Was using this for the plate from the relocator kit but too short

Same as early 3S-GTEs but it's no good as it incorporates the relief valve for the oil cooler.

According to the EPC they are the same part #.

How long does it need to be?

The part # for the Gen 3 3S is different but I know the thread is the same and I just happen to have a 3S in pieces so I can measure it.

needs to be about another 5mm longer. The one i have fits but the thread doesnt screw right into the block and thats what im after. I can have it screwed into the adaptor plate but then it only goes a couple of threads into the block

yea as i wrote that i thought "5mm longer then ..." haha. Current length is 40mm so 45mm would do the trick

No, it needs to seat properly against the housing, and the 5mm more would have to be on the exposed bit, not overall.

Put it back on the engine and measure from the face of the housing where the bolt screws into to the end of the thread.

If it's under 20mm, which given it's 40mm overall length I doubt, then a 3S one might work as it measures 25mm from the face to the end.

You can get an approximation by measuring for the end of the bolt to the start of the thread on the other side of the hex.

Nevermind, I just took the 3S one out and it's only 40mm overall length.

I had to machine one for similar purpose at random engineering place, not too expensive. Make sure you supply good diagram.

okay now i get your problem

take the 20v pedestal off, and get the 16v threaded piece (tech term?) and screw it in. that way you get rid of the pedestal (which should probably be fouling on your manifold anyway) and you get something that works. thats why it worked on the bluetop

errrrrrrrrrrr what? here are a few more pics to people can see what im talking about

There are 3 threads that stick out of the block and not enough for the adaptor plate to screw on. The overall length of the bolt of 40mm and is the same length either side. I need it to be 5-10mm longer on the visable side

You need a Brass Barrel Nipple, but not sure if they make the size you need..

went to a place in Wellington that sold all these sorts of things and they had a size smaller and a size larger. Correct length but wrong size. Can anyone knowledgable see the one from that list that i need? i Tried finding something about thread pitch coz i they only show dimensions on there i think

And im sure Fivebob said not to use brass as it will crack..

They all appear to be metric so there's not one that I can see.

Indeed I did, and with good reason. Even annealled brass under the stress and vibration that it will get will work harden and fracture. There's a good reason that they use steel in the first place. Last thing you want is you oil filter adaptor housing falling off and spewing oil everywhere

I can't see why they adaptor doesn't fit. Does your oil filter only have three thread of engagement too???

Which 16v 4AGE then???

In most cases the EPC lists the same part number for the 16V as it does for the 20V.
