I have looked into making a router board using 4 nand gates and a few flip flops switched by the g1 signal, but the igt signal can appear on either side of the g1 signal depending on the amount of ignition advance.

It can still be done but you would also need to include the NE signal so you can delay the flip flop by several NE teeth.

oh yep seen that, i thought you guys meant by just using only the stock ecu a coil packs,

i have this blackbox but the cunning ozzy who built it has taken all the numbers off the chips, so copying it is a nightmare,
it can run waste spark or COP, does exactly as you and matt has said,

Hmmm,

Interesting concept.

Definatly possible to make it all work,
but you need to buy/build a sequencer,

and look as though the easiest option is to also fit another sensor somewhere to create a cylinder designation signal.

on the 16V's they had an extra sensor in the dist,
and on the 20V's they had made a signal off the front on the exh cam.

Maybe an interesting project to have a play with,
the extra signal would be no issue to create,
but will need to brush up on my transistior and electronic operation,
as it's been a few years since I did much more than a simple amp circuit.

if your any god with C, the easiest way would be using a microcontroller such as the atmega.

But if you spend too much time/money on it you may aswell build a programmable ecu.

gze wasted spark multiplex ignition would be a bit less work.it would be wired the same as the 20v ignitor, then you need a series of flipflops for the igda coil select input.
