Nah mate, gotta rule things out.

Try disconnecting the 2 pin connector that goes from coil to distributor, switch the ignition on and see if AM2 blows again.

Yeah, seems to be common issue with Toyotas? Possibly the capacitor with a "short brown wire" mounted to the distributor.

Not a Starlet, but similar issue;

I disconnected the dizzy and now the fuse doesn't blow....And the car also turns over now!!

Does anybody have a pic of what this capacitor looks like? Or what I should be looking for

Not exactly, I have just temporarily disconnected the capacitor until I can source a new one.

The car starts up mint again

Is it ok to drive around without this part connected?
