They are pretty awesome. Some will have lower ratings to keep the warranty claims down perhaps? Didn't Ford set low ratings for the early turbo falcons for that reason? Could be urban myth.

The Falcon ratings are higher if you have the factory tow pack fitted, from memory it included heavier rear springs and a bigger trans cooler. Pretty sure the wagons had higher ratings too.
