Yeah, obviously there will be exceptions... but it's definitely a lot easier to plug in a laptop and bump numbers up/down than it is to balance a set of carbs by ear :P .

I'm reasonably noob when it comes to carbs, but I understand the theory, and I understand EFI reasonably well.
I cannot imagine a well tuned carb setup producing results as reliable as a well tuned EFI setup. I can't imagine any benefits at all.
Can anyone explain a theory of how a carb system could be better in any way?

For engine conversions - simplicity. No need for drop tanks/surge tanks/expensive EFI fuel line or extra wiring for ECU and sensors. Otherwise there is no real advantage.

1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time

Maybe other areas of your rev range are lower than efi equiv, this would make it seem to make more power when the mid range is hit. Just a thought. :)

I know when I ran open trumpets I got torque steer @ 7k which I don't get with factory airbox. My theory was it just shifted all my power to 7k  As it seemed overall slower with no airbox.

Could be because the top & bottom are missing.
