dave wants to do club type racing. that means a turbo 4age is a bad choice as he ends up racing against 1800 and 2 ltr turbos.

n/a 4age or 3sge imo

and on further info it seems 4age would be the easier one to do.

and the important part of a track car is handling. so sorting the suspension is more important than spending 5k on a flash engine.
300hp in crap susension is slower than 150 in top suspension!

sort the suspension, brakes and other things, then chase power

hmmm spose

Good suspension is more than just money tho, it takes time, research, and a good base.

Its the non irs rear aye? Go 4 link, mean shocks, custom springs.

Look how well matt dunn does, and that cars fairly simple, with heaaaaaaaaapppps of fine tuning.

NA is cool yeah, but 300hp 4agte in a well set up rina wont cost the earth really.

If you go NA, then 3s all the way. It will be much cheaper to get good power and torque (hate the word).

hmmmm...

if i was comming into FR and a hearty track car.

get a link with some quads on a large or small port, trd headgasket rebuild etc and get some big injectors.

dunno what your saying about the mr2 cause there a real chalange to drive. as theres a fine line when your coming into a corner where you sledge then it flicks you out and you drift then you gota watch it cause you spin. and i doubt that an sw20 is that much different to aw11 both being MR the AW is just a little more rugged and less stable just means you need to drive the sw20 even harder.

then again you can make a car do anything you want if you set the suspension up in certain ways.

but yea if your gunna want boost id go with an SC12 with huge pulley simply cause they haul ass all the way to 7 grand which could be helped too and theres no restriction on the exhaust side

boost of idle couldnt ask for anything better

i think antilag gives you more boost than that at idle.

I disagree! I find it much easier to drive the MR than regular FR cars, they seem way less predictable to me.
Probably only because I've got a fair bit of experience driving MR, and not much driving a normal FR car.

as theres a fine line when your coming into a corner where you sledge then it flicks you out and you drift then you gota watch it cause you spin.

Nah I found it pretty easy to pitch it out sideways on the track if I wanted to, but only ever if I provoked it.
If I took the proper line, you'd be mildly understeering all of the way, and varying the understeer with throttle control.
Having the car twitch under heavy braking is a bit sketchy though, haha.

and i doubt that an sw20 is that much different to aw11 both being MR the AW is just a little more rugged and less stable just means you need to drive the sw20 even harder.

I disagree, that's the thing about my SW20..
It gives heaps of warning when you're at the limit, you can drive it hard and still know how fast is too fast, and if you can push it harder.
Pushing it harder usually meant slower lap times, driving smooth > driving hard.

Driving an MR car is completely different to driving an FR, and in my opinion, FR is more fun.
Well they're both fun, but in different ways.
Solution? Have both. 8)

why would I want an AW11?

I want something with FR characteristics to play with.

I'm sick of pulling the engine in and out of an MR car too, haha.

whateva floats your boat.

imo i think you can make any car do what you want with handling. but seering as you got the carina then you might as well its just toyota FRs arnt cheap option to play. ie t50s in the 500 dollar mark atm

Me and the laws of physics disagree with you on that point.

P.S. Hey crnkin, wanna swap your W55 for a T40? :P
