AE86 splines/axles gearbox tec. questions

Could somebody explain to me the difference in splines or axles or whatever in the different year ae86's?

Early model AE86's ('83-'84) use 21 spline diff's and the later models (facelift shape? '85-87) use 23 spline. Rob_gtz will correct me if im wrong

Yep JT is right, axle has more Teeth & also larger in diameter

The T-50 gearbox, fitted to rwd 4AGEs has a 22 spline output shaft

Yes but don't forget JT, t50's from 2tg's also come out with 22 spline gearboxes too.

You mean they came out with 20 splines

no some 2tg's had 22 spline t50's as well, i have one sitting in my shed at the moment

yea the 22 spline is more to do yith the year of production maybe than behind a certain car. 3a carinas have a 22 spline so do some 2tg's as said. Also I posted this up before somewhere
