Postby Andy from the block » Mon Apr 05, 2004 11:36 pm

Im currently looking for a new ecu to fit my AE101 GTZ as my one is kinda stuffed.
I rang a wrecker and they said they needed to know the ECU number or something , not jst the model of the car.
Anyone able to shed some light on this?

It will be on a sticker on your ECU. You will have to pull it out to read it.

What exactly is wrong with your ecu? More often than not, they can be repaired, usually it's just leaking capacitors...

yup the number is on the sticker. but for ae101 gtz there is only one ecu. there were no changes. so normally you would need those numbers.
it could be that they have removed it and just want to be sure ther are grabbing the correct one.
i can do one for $303inc gst.
trying to find a cheaper one but they are getting hard to find

The ECU wont show the engine check light and wont respond to getin the error codes , my car idles irratically (which cod be due to many things) and has slight power loss. Auto electritian said I need new ECU.

There is a place in nelson that does Exchange units for them.
Your auto electrian should know who they are or pm me and I'll find some details.
