Strange noise from front of MR2 sw20 n/a

hey everyone, i am a proud owner of a 90 MR2 sw20 n/a, now within the last week or so i started to notice this "clock! clock!clock!" sound coming from the front of the car when i am driving. this clocking sound is stronger on the drivers side. now this sound only happens when i go over bumps or uneven surfaces. on the motorway and smooth surfaces it's not very noticeable at all. my mate reckons it could be CV joint/or the bushes or the shocks and possibly wheel bearings. what do you think. it's really concerning me and i want it resolved ASAP. also have different noise coming from the backbut will have to pay more attention to describe it clearly. cheers in advance.

Ummm my guess would be bushes...maybe even worn shocks or something loose in the suspention...

They tend to go through bushes every few years...try it its not very expensive and would prolly solve it...or take it to a mechanic that can tell you

Most likely the lower ball joint, but could also be bushes or the rack/rod ends. Another possibility is the sway bar mounts which are prone to cracking. Get it up on a hoist and have a look is the best way to find out what's wrong

BTW never listen to your mate again he obviously knows nothing about cars, even less about MR2's

cheers for all your suggestions, where is the best place to take to in wellington? pit stop any good with these sorts of problems or should i take it to toyota service centre?

I've got a bit of the same thing. Sounds like a bit of a low pitch squeek?

Mine is a 90 SW20 N/A as well and the D-bushes for the sway bar are old and cracked.
Every time I drive for the first 10 or so mins, it's squeeks when I go over speed bumps, after a while, it goes away.
I'll be getting them replaced soon
