what to do with my cat on my ae111???

Postby Bling » Tue Apr 20, 2004 9:50 pm

I have been told, and have noticed my self a bad smell coming from my car. Its my cat I have been told, so what I want to know is whats my best option to do with it?

its on an ae111, I want to replace the cat with something so that I don't get a tinny exhaust sound.......

whats best option, 1 resonator? 2?

Will I get better performace after such an undertaking replacing the cat with the resonator(s)?

Cheers for all advice!!

step one: pitstop, pay $100 or so and get a red coby. will sound not mcuh different, unless you have done the rear too

Also make sure you haven't left any old Jellimeat lying around and have cleaned out the kitty litter tray recently. That could help with the smell...... :D

This is what I did to my AE111.
Take out the cat by unbolting it.
Using a screwdriver and chisel chip out all the guts of the cat and take out the wire mesh that is in there till it's completely empty.
Then bolt it back in. You need the chamber to prevent the tinny noise that you will get if you replace it with a piece of straight pipe

louvered coby's are more restricive. get a red one with no directional arrow on the sticker, the ones with arrows have a resonating chamber in the front (turbulence). better yet get a piece of pipe if u want max peformance.
meh.....

trust me, red coby, single reflection rear muffler (pitstop brand), my car sounds mint, no tin at all (ask anyone who has heard it, gordon77 etc).
