4AGE oil pressure switch, awkward position!!

Postby NILPSI » Sun Apr 25, 2004 10:42 pm

As most 20v owner should know, the oil pressure switch is located behind the power steering pump on the front of the block

Just wondering has anybody ever put an oil pressure gauge into their 20v? and if so is there an easy way to remove the factory switch to put in a T joint (so i can hook up the gauge and the oil pressure light), or do i have to take off the whole power steering pump :?

Any clues?????

Cheers

yup awkward and stupid, Invest in a Greddy Oil Block Adapter for your oil pressure setup and some braided line.

na it isn't that hard you just need a good socket to fit over the original sender, it took me ages to do mine, but it wasn't that hard

Does the adaptor not have to be in the engine block?? I was told you cant run a braided line off the block to the adaptor and that it has to be strait into the block or you get an in-accurate reading??

True or have i been fed a crock of s**t???

Does anybody know of any suppliers of braided line that dont charge the earth??

Another thing, what size socket do i need to fit over the original sender? given my job it shouldnt be hard to find one

surely if there is no restriction than it would be fine running it off a braded line?. I mean mechanical gauges take a feed from the block all the way to the gauge before it is measured
