What are ya putting through the firewall?- would it fit through the arch grommet where the main loom goes?- just it'd be a lot less work to do it that way if it does.
Cant believe im still a member here.

removing a dashboard without removing the windowscreen is a mission and a half

If you do decide to be a crazy cookie and remove the dash, you can have a look at the new dash I have sitting in the garage for the clip location... or I could take a pic for you...

just find the gromit behinde the quads that the heater cable runs through, slit the gromit abit and feed the tube through... itll come out up around the top of your clutch peddle.

Ive removed the dash in my ae101, took 45mins pieace of piss. but for just a vacum gauge i wouldnt bother find the hole that is pritty much next to the clutch peddle. i only pulled mine out to get it all redone in white leather look. just becarefull when pulling it out as the whole wiring system is attached to the dash itself, along with a few other plugs.

dont.

you want to remove it JUST to get a vaccume gauge pipe through? go through one of the exisiting holes in the firewall you just push it in from the engine bay and then find in under the dash :P - most cars have plenty of holes for such things.

I agree...

if its the gromit that has a black cable going into it... you should have no problem feeding the tube through with the plenum chamber on, just slit it abit tape the vacume tube to the end of some stiff wire and feed it through... just pull the wire on the other side and drag ya tube through, just make sure u dont squish it with cable ties or let it cut on a sharp edge, also be sure to get the right vacume line... my first attempt i ended up with a bouncing needle reading just one cylinder heh

yea sorry :P

the hose I hooked up to make it work? or the other one? first one I got was a idle vac or sumthen I think. ill have to get a digi foto to be able to explane, dosnt seam to take much foot to push the needle to the stopper... (0 vac) think its sumthen todo with the quads

I undone my dash enuff to slide it away from the windscreen once was just bolts in the telltail hiding spots but i couldnt pull it much further with out undoing wiring (I think)
