ae101 levin question #2 broken heater

k, my heater is real weird, it seems to have either two settings extreme left is blown unheated air (but not cooled air even when air con is on) then one notch to the rite and its full heat,

what is likely to be the problem, does my ac need regassing or is it more likely the climate control unit thingge has buggered itself?

and lastley if my cars previous owner reads this, did u know about that and do u possibly know what is wrong with it?

no i never noticed it doing that although i tended to either have it on full hot or full cold - never tried one notch in.
one thing i did notice though is that if you drove it on the open road (ie reasonable speed) on a cold day with the heater on the car ran quite cool so i wondered if the thermostat was maybe a bit dodge.
dont know if this is related to your problem but i guess it might help you narrow it down.

do u have a slider heat setting or a round dial?
if its a slider = climate control..
you'd probably find the hose has come off the sensor...
above the drivers left knee, you'll see 3 slits... this is where the air temp sensor is (assumed)... and there is a pipe that goes from this to the airbox.. make sure its attached to both...

yeah i have a slider heat control and a round fan control, i spose that a point cos the auto setting just puts the fan on constant full blast, where is this airbox u speak of?

cheers i think i found it, my dash was already half removed so i had a poke around and found a little diode like thing (looks like a light or heat sensitive diode) with a hose and a plug with two cables, i pluged the cables back in and i think its working good again now i'm about to road test, but the auto actually does something noe

I have this exact same problem...lol
I got my cold air regassed when I bought the car and it worked fine for like a few days then that weird problem came on.
Did that connecting of those hoses help?
