Rev limiter

Postby Dunny » Tue May 11, 2004 5:34 pm

Hey,

I am wanting/trying to find a suitable rev limiter for my race car. Running points & carbs, so no computer to piggy back off or anything.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what to use or where to get one? I have limited (no) experience with them.

Cheers

Can do a rev-rite limiter which will suit your needs but I cannot remember what they are worth off the top of my head.
I will check and find out if you want.

For a distro, you can get rotors that have like a centrifuge device on them.
Pretty much, what it does is when you reach a certain RPM, a counter weight will pull the part that contacts with the point in the cap back and stop the spark.
It's what me mum's '77 911 has :)

As to where to get one.... Well you've got me there sorry!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
