mr2 radiator 2 q's

Postby mister two » Fri May 21, 2004 10:33 pm

ok my radiator is leaking in the sw20
1. how do i get it out. does it come out the top or the bottom? do i need to take the fans off to get it out or not?. does the air con condenser need to be moved? (i know i cant disconnect it because of the gas)

2. how do i make sure that there are no air locks in the system when it is reinstalled, i know there is one valve that is on the radiator and apparently there is another one somewhere else? i dont really wanna crack a head because there is an air lock in the plumbing :?

(ok 3 questions actually)
3. how do ya fix a radiator once ya find the hole? is there a budget way that works? (i dont like paying to get things done unless i cant do it myself)

thanks in advance

sorry dude, but if you cant figure how to remove the radiator the theres no way you should be considering repairing it yourself.
but anyway, it comes out the front.
when back together, you need to bleed it from thr front, then again at the head.
Get a hold of the repair manual, as it is avalible online, and read fully before trying anything.
Im not to sure, but i think i git the manual from http://home.kabelfoon.nl/~marcor/MR2links.htm

i already know that it comes out the front! i wanted to know top or bottom.
i wasn't gonna repair it unless there was a easy way of doing so.
i just wanna take it out so i can take it somewhere to get fixed and not have to pay them labour to take it out, unless there is a easy way to do it.
how does it get fixed when professionally done then.

there wasnt anything on that link of help. :(

okay i am gonna have a look at gettin it out this afternoon, im sure i will figure it out. just hadn't had time to have a good look yet.

but does anyone have a detailed description of how to bleed it? ie how to actually go about it.
