Are any T40 parts compatible with T50 internals?

My T50 is stuffed and Im looking at what options I have because I have an identical gearbox that seems to be a 4spd (T40??) and was wondering whether I could use anything from that in my T50.

BTW: the T50 has play in the bearings (i think) and ground a few teeth on one gear (damn whats it called....ummm its not a helical (sp?) one. ie the teeth are aligned with the shaft.) does that make any sense...

hey.. whats the t50 from? i can maybe cross reference some numbers, theres a good chance some parts will fit... also there are still a few bits available new...... let me know exactly what you need and ill see what i can do

Sweet thanks, I will find out soon cause its in pieces at a workshop at the moment.

oh yea t50's came in ae86's and some other old rwd toyotas likes celica's and maybe carina's? but I think they were a bit different i.e the output shaft has 22splines in an ae86 but some had 20splines.

Depends on what you have broken but all the hubs and bork rings are the same, you can still buy new bearings, hubs and bork rings. It is very unlikely that you would have a 20 spline box in your car. Hope this helps.
