if I were getting custom extractors made and going to use an external wastegate, I would get rid of the factory turbo and buy a new aftermarket one, as the difference in price between getting the ct26 rebuilt + upgraded (and getting it done well ~ $800-1100) or buying a reasonably priced ($1600-1900, minus price you sell old turbo for) aftermarket turbo would easily be offset by the gains to be had.

Don't get stainless ones if you want them to last, get steampipe, also it doesn't hurt to add bracing to the manifold to help support the weight and prevent cracking. There are several aftermarket turbo kits with extractors available for the 3sgte, so have a look around mr2 websites if you want some pictures.

I think it was in one of the latest NZPC mags a red MR2 wanted more torque and street ablilty than max hp. He highflowed his factory turbo and was very happy with the results.
Im scooters flatmate and know where he gets his turbo's rebuilt - dont cost anywhere near $800. The benefit of knowing "people" ....

:)

I know "people" betta watch all yous fullas backs! that is a joke btw
From all the research I've done in the last few days, Spend money now save money later.
You buy a real flashy chicken for $200 got a pedigree, her sisters laid 500000 eggs so she expected to do the same. or you could buy heaps of cheap chickens and get the same result on paper but prolly lots of the cheap chickens would die cos there tooo many too take care of properly, so you end up getting 1000 eggs. Plus lotsa stringy laying hen meat in your freezer. :?

:D :D :D :D :D
I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!! new chicken!!!!! new fines probably
