4A-GE Black Top Transplant Wiring Assistance Required

Postby DA8! » Fri Sep 03, 2004 12:25 pm

I'm not exactly a Toyota expert, so please forgive me if I've screwed something up in this post :)

Here's the situation. A friend of mine has an AE101 Corolla Sedan that was originally fitted with a 4A-FE / 5-speed.

Last year, he transplanted a 4A-GE Silver Top / 5-speed into it and got it running without too much drama. From memory, the only issue was some minor mods to the fuel pump wiring.

He has recently replaced the 4A-GE Silver Top / 5-speed with a 4A-GE Black Top / 6-speed and has run into some major wiring problems.

As far as he can tell, the motor is wired up properly, (he worked off an ECU diagram) - but his car won't start.

This morning, he asked me to post a request for assistance here.

He asked for:

1. Wiring diagram for under the dashboard (?)
2. Wiring diagram for engine (ie. which wires go to which plugs)

I've done a bit of Googling and all I've managed to find are ECU diagrams, which he already has.

Any assistance or suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers :D
