has anyone put a 3sgte engine in a NA sw20 before

Has anyone out there put a 3sgte engine in a sw20 before.
Will it bolt straight in a NA SW20
( I have got some quote from other people and they said it is different but I have seen someone did that before)

The actual engine itself is a straight foward bolt in swap, but you need a lot of other things to make it work, primarily the turbo E153 gearbox, axles and hubs, and the loom (all the way to the dash) computer and sensors. If you have a running donor car it's a simple if time consuming exercise, otherwise finding all the little bits you need can be a nightmare.

the widely held opinion is that its better to just buy at GT or GTS as the conversion is very expensive if not doing the work yourself.
The turbos are different in lots of ways:

suspension
exhaust
brakes
gearbox

do a search and you will find a longer list...

That's not correct, JDM suspension and brakes are the same. Don't rely on (mis)information from the US.

Not necessarily, depending on the cost of the parts, if you can get a damaged car out of Japan for the right money a swap can be very cost effective, especially if you get a gen 3.

There are no differences in the subframe between turbo and NA, but it was changed for all models with the 12/91 model revision.
