Fuel gauge problems?

Postby Adamal » Tue Sep 07, 2004 3:12 pm

Wondering if theres a bit of a problem with my fuel gauge as it seems to read a bit odd.

I'll fill up and it'll stay on full for about 100k's. Then it goes down to halfway at normal consumption and goes down to 1/4 pretty quick and once it's on 1/4th, goes down til the light comes on within about 30k's.

Something wrong here or have SW20's always been bad at math? :?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

sounds just like the gauge on my 101, sticks to the top for about 100-120kms then goes down pretty quick after that

Dont think its anything to worry about, although id like to know what causes it. Surely the gauge isnt like that when the car is new...

Its just a bit annoying really! If theres a cheap fix, I'd do it, but not if its going to require like a new float in the tank or anything

most cars do this, due to oddly shaped fuel tanks. Nothing to worry about, and the more you drive it the more you get to know it.

My fuel guage does that - stays full for 200km, then drops like a stone to half - then stays on half for another 200 or so then suddenly I have no bars

Bloody annoying.

miens the worst it sits on 1/4 (cos thats how much money i usually have to put in my gas tank) and i think sweet i can use that gas to get to palmy.... as soon ( and i shit you not ) as ive gone past the last gas station... the gauge drops instantly to the very bottom line and then sits there for ages, now that is fuking annoying
