GT Starlet - C or E series G/Box?

Postby 85AW20v » Sun Sep 19, 2004 10:49 pm

And if its a C series, do any of them come out with an LSD? Just looking for something a bit cheaper than $1300 for TRD LSD for the AW racecar.
See ya

hey simon :D
the galnza turbo starlets(96 onwards) have a c series box that has a lsd(viscous)
unfortunatly they dont all have it
again looking though the axel holes will help
if it

i think k road have one in stock 4 about 600
- 20% for trade :D
other than that your looking for a blacktop box with lsd
(torsen)
i would think this would be the much better option for ya
though there hard as hens teeth to find
but you will get the whole box for cheaper then the trd lsd i would expect:)

ill have a look around for ya today mate see what i can hookup :D

have a lookie at this site...

http://www.padandwheels.com/mr2/blackto ... 3/c56.html

using the casing from a AW11 MANUAL SC box and using the internals from a Blacktop 20v 5spd...

good write up.. little fab work to be done but nothing too major..

good luck :)

FWD Transmission Conversion for the MR2
Here's what you will need to do to convert a front-engine FWD transmission to work in the mid-engined MR2, specifically the C56 transmission.

dude i want some of your drugs :D

thats teh how to make a fwd c5# into a rwd c5#

i quite sure the internals wont swap over been a diffent gearset
diffrent input shaft and ley shaft size amonst other things

love you long time

<g> A MR2 is essentially a FWD setup dumped on the rear of the car, perhaps you should get some of MrOizo's drugs :-)

I think you've got it wee bit wrong MrOzio. Its still a handy site to have the link to though. I would think a box out of a GT would need the same mod although the diff would probably fit into the C52 along with the better gear ratio set. And yes the Torsen would be great but the viscous better than nothing which is what I have now!!

Let me know how you get on. Thanks v.
