Knackered Gearbox...... or not?

Postby sopachrga » Mon Oct 18, 2004 10:28 pm

For a while now I have been of the opinion that my gearbox i my '87 SC is on the way out. But I noticed today that if I out the car in first gear and hold the clutch in, then REV the car to about 2000 Revs the car will creep forwards, That indicates to me that the clutch is not completly disengaging.

This would also make it feel like the synchro's are worn.. Would it not?

is this a posiblitity, or is this normal, if not, how do I go about diagnosing the problem and fixing it???

yeah... don't think it's your gearbox... bleed your cluch lines, refill, get all the air out and test the clutch again
