MR2 Swap

Hey there, i have a '90 MR2 GT with the veilside front and side kit, i want to put the front bumper, side skirts and rear tail lights off the later model MR2. Does any one know whether they are a straight bolt up??

Nah not back from melb, just thinking bout turning the '2 into a road regestered track car with a roll cage and stuff for when i get back! and the veilside kit would be a bit pointless!!!

Pretty much, the sidevents are the same on all model SW20s, you need to "panelbeat" the sheetmetal to get the late model reversing lights to fit. The front bumper cover is a direct replacement, it's pretty much the same for all models apart from a different lip on the later model, and a different bolt pattern for the lip on the main cover.

It would be a lot cheaper to stick with the veilside stuff though, and much easier and cheaper to repair/replace if it breaks. just the late model lip is $400 from Toyota.

well at the moment the front kit is about 2-3" of the ground, once i get some adjustable suspension and lower it, it'll probably touch the ground!

PS i would try and do a swap for the front and side veilside for a late model factory kit and tail lights?!?!?!?! anyone?

i know it aint late model... but i got factory tail lights and bumpers if you want to swap?

its an 89 tho so yea... ya probably dont :P

Yeah, i like the front bumper and side skirts of the later model and the rear tail lights! if you could get those i'd swap you in a flash!

i might be able to get you the gen3 tail lights for $400 if your keen?

2 b honest im after somthin a little mor subtle than veilside for my mr2 :?

yeah the veilside kits quite a bit of a kit!
But it does suit the mr2 alot better than some other cars i've seen them on!
