tureno creeking sound when steering turned S/S

Postby event2 » Mon Nov 08, 2004 9:48 pm

hey i got a ae 101 gtz tureno with super strut. now the problem is when i turn my sterin wheel within 45 degrees of center i can hear a sort of creeking sound but past a bout 45 degrees eather lock its fine no sound at all now it seems to hav started after it was put on a hoist and the discs were skimmed and and new pads and 1 new wheel bearing front left . i hav jst replace the front right bottom arm with the bush that wears out in suter strut suspension but it hasnt stoped the noise but my car steers better but thats not the point. do i jst need so smear sum grease around sum places? my car hasnt gotn ne harder to steer and the power steering fluid hasnt droped at all. do i jst need to jack her up and hav a play see wat i can find
any ideas of wat this could be would be awsume

cheers

probably wont do anything, but give it a soak with the hose- just to see if any of the bushes are real dry. I suspect if that the case it wouldnt just do it at that angle however.
If you do find where the noise is find out what the bush is made of first as some dont respond well long term to grease.
did you replace the bottom arm when you did the breaks or later?- if the same time id suspect it was that.
another small possibility could be if they took the parts off to skim the breaks and did not reassemble correctly e.g.- if they had to take of any suspension arms, some should be bolted up fully with a load on them, not free hanging.
yea, just afew 2c thoughts anyway
