The Sard MC8-R is basically a lengthend sw20 chassis with the 1uz.

If you wanna build your own i suggest seeing a bank for a mortgage

Holy shit dude, I need a change of underwear...

Although the wheelbase is longer... Handling characteristics would be very different in that car.

Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

You will be able to fit a 1UZ in there but it's going to be a very very tight squeeze. There's a dude down in manukau who has one in his MX5.

there is a company up in brisbane in qld the built mx5 custom orders using the lexus 1UZ bullit engine they then tune them to 360KW N/A or 418K/w Turbo pretty hairy stuff but what do you expect for 115k.

at the end of the day it can be done.... i have just got to find a shop who will help me do it (if it happens it will be very unique to say the least):D

They ended up lengthening the chassis 300mm (or was that 600mm  )
Would be very interesting to get a look at up close

The main problem would be mating a gearbox to it. MR2s engines are basically a fwd turned backwards. The 1uz is a north-south FR motor.

Not such a big problem with a completely fabricated chassis and retaining the north south layout (From what I remember)
In other words, an SW20 silhouette

why not just import a Cadillac FWD engine from the States? engine only costs $1000 USD ish and add some $$$$ for shipping...it would be far cheaper doing it that way rather than using the 1UZ-FE. its also bigger too!

and im sure if it fits in a AW11 im sure it will fit in a SW20 without needing to lengthen the chassis.
