if u got seperate shocks to insert in the struts then get a adjustable platform welded onto the strut with new springs.

70mm?? Really? Do KE70's have quite a short strut?

Because I just did my brothers KE30 & the most i could go was a 45mm compression & that is just captive

Who compressed them in Chch, and how much? Was it Chamberlains?

Got them done at Bellamy & East Springmakers, Cost $40

who would bother with the prices of direct replacment springs being reasonably affordable even to pack and save workers such as yourself
ive been chopping springs since you were just a spec in ya daddys ball bags but after having them fall out and writing off a car i wouldnt bother
*end rant*[/quote]

Sure, you sound really old and mature

Replacement springs = ~$180
Cutting springs = $free

you're obviously just too thick to do it right. And how you managed to write off a car from your springs falling out is beyond me.

just because there captive doesnt meen it will make the car corner any better or pass a warrent for that matter
no point in debating back yard mechanic techniques soon as you go for a warrent they will fail you even if they are captive

Replacement springs = ~$180
Cutting springs = $50 pink sticker test $50 new springs to replace the cutties

That was price for a pair, but i got Trade prices, i think cost $55-$60 normally. I'm not 100%, but i'm pretty sure that was progressive. Ring & ask them if you're interested.

If it is safe to have them captive, then why is it illegal?

If it was safe it would be legal as long as they are captive.

lets NOT start another huge thread about ltsa regulations etc.

cut springs usually pass warrants if they are captive, therefor "road legal" but is alters the handling capabilitys, same spring rate at lower ride height, less rebound, and they are a cheap dodgy way to lower your car. Illegal on paper

some people frown upon it, due to previous experiences etc..
and some encourage it, due to previous expeirences etc..

u wanna cut? go for it. just stay away from me on the road :x
