Why dont you just sell it an buy a turbo? It'd be cheaper, and a lot less pissing around.

Unless the car is supa mint or has sentimental value I'd be inclined to agree. If you can get the bits cheap, why not, but in saying that the price of dem is coming down.
If you do wana keep the car definatly just go 3sgte insted of 3sge turbo'd. Just my 2c of opinion anyway

Like Dr-X said, go buy a MR2 GT or GT-S. They're readily available 2nd hand. A lot less hassle alround with having to deal with low volume cert, insurance etc. Oh, and no skinned knuckles. And will probably cost less in parts, time and effort.

You should be able to get a early'90s for under 8k privately. (I'm guessing here)

And, I'm speaking from experience. I spent a shit load of money on sorting out a (*cough*) TriumphDolomite 1850 (*cough*). I could have imported the top model of the same car in perfect nick (a 2L, 16 valve powered one - only one of two 16V production cars in the '70s...), or bought a 7MGTE Supra MKIII for the same money I spent on the damned thing. (and no jokes about the 7MGTE and BHGs, thank you)
