boost gauge readings on GTZ

Postby fxtacy » Sat Jan 01, 2005 8:28 pm

Hey,

I know that the standard AE101 gtz's boost is around 7-8psi, my boost gauge is only showing at the most 5psi and vac reading is about 11. Has my gauge been hooked up incorrectly or is my superchager fu*d?

Also, when turning off my gtz I hear a release of air, is this just the supercharger cooling down?

cheers

that noise is air suction in to the engine,
the supercharger is only engaged when that light on the dash is on.

as for the boost, that is a little low, check your intercooler clamps / hoses is it still running a standard i/c?

guages do vary, cheap ones can give shit results

also were have you connected it into?

vacuum from memory should be around 18-20psi at idle,

those clamps are generally loose,
i think were the guage is plumbed into will also make a slight difference,
the abv bypass might also make a difference

yeh sounds like u mite have a leak sumwere. the vacuum should b up around 20 hg-in (im pretty sure thats the measurement) so maybe a vacuum leak ?? ;) lol, just check all your pipes etc check were the gauge is connected to that its on tight, make sure non of the flexi joiner type things arent cracked or perished.
