AE86 vs AE85 Drive Shafts

Postby I SL1DE » Thu Jan 06, 2005 11:32 am

Is an AE85 drive shaft exactly the same as an AE86 drive shaft? I am currently building up an AE85.6 and one of the parts im missing is a drive shaft. Does anyone have a spare that they are willing to sell?

Also what modifications need to be done to the drive shaft if i decide to use a hilux diff? Do i just modify the existing drive shft or do i need to swap in a completely different one?

Thanks for your help

Ae85 is a one piece unit while the ae86 one is two piece.
the spline count is different between the two also (on the input to hte gear box).
you can get the ae86 drive shaft moified to suit a hilux diff if you decide to go that way.

Also i do have a ae86 d shaft here if you are interested- pm me
