building your own body kit

just wondering if there are any certs etc u need to build your own and wat should i build it out of because i have a wide range of materials to do it with.

Nope, no cert required unless you're planning on making it from steel and welding it to the body :lol:

I'd suggest carbon fibre, but failing that, I hear fibreglass does ok :lol:

Carbon fibre is expensive... but probably worth it in the long run. Start with Fibre glass as it's much cheaper.

I think you could make the initial shape from wood, as it's easily worked, then make the moulds from fibreglass, and the final product can then be made from which ever material you want...

The only problem with fibreglass is that it is really weak, especially if it's going to be quite low and possibly scrape on the ground!! Plastics a good way to go, like the factory kits cause its a lot more resiliant to being broken and what not. Failing that make the fibreglass really thick at the bottom and put some aluminium skid plates on the bottom for protection
