Hi, i'm looking at getting one

I know with the ae92 gtz's they change from afm to map sensor half way through production is this the same with Mr2's?

Do they come factory with an lsd?

anyone taken a standardish one to the drag strip, how'd it go?

what are some common problems with aw11 that you have to look out for?


as i haven't seen many around for sale, what would be a fair price for an 89 with no rust, good body and 140,000km on the clock, new shocks and new clutch, and cambelt done at 100,000km

As far as I know no scs had the MAP motor, although the AW11 was built till 89.12 and the AE92 gtz with AFM motor was built until 89.05 so could be wrong. The LSD was a factory option. Not sure on drag times about 15s I'd guess.
If it has T-tops the roof will most likely leak, can be damn annoying. Watch for crunchy gearboxes, excessively noisy superchargers, and worn rear suspension.
Make sure the cooling system has been well looked after.
Don't drive on bald tyres!
If it has an overboost pulley make sure the engine mounts aren't damaged or broken.
To find (some) rust take out the side vent and look up under the pillar. If there is no rust there you are a blessed man!

Good price for an 89 if its a manual would be about 3-4.5 $k, just the car I want but don't have the money! Sounds like it's had the hard and expensive work done.
