st183 and 3sgte questions

well i just got my car back after almost a month and well it blew a brand new HG on the way home. Very pisst to put it politly. Also it has a massive knock in the sump area and misses like mad on number 3 cylinder. My temper boiled over and decided enough is enough. my GF has offered to buy me an engine, which happens to be a 3sgte gen 1.

Come with loom ecu engine and gearbox. Pretty keen to take her offer as the 3sge is really toasted. Question is though, how will i get on running the 3sgte ECU with the 4WS and the "Sport mode" and "revs 2ws" stuff? Will some crafty wiring be needed or will i simply just loose them?

the 3sgte and stuff came from a ST165. Any ideas?

can i use the st165 loom or do i need a st185 one? and wi the gen 1 ECU work with a st185 loom? im only new to celicas so thats why the long, dumb and confusing questions.

you would be way better off getting an engine from an st185, then it is practically a plug + play conversion. the 4ws controls are independant of the engine ecu, so shouldn't be any problems there.

would a st165 3sgte and a st185 loom/ecu work?or be more "plug and play?"

yeah I think you can swap looms, although you might need to change some plugs, also you need to source some parts like a map sensor

put the st165 engine in your car, but to use your 185 loom youll have to have to swap a few things like the injectors, but the rest should be the same. you may want to swap the head as the 185 head is better than the 165.
