4AGE 16v 8.9:1 pistons in 20v - Flycut or not?

Postby Gavin » Wed Apr 13, 2005 7:00 am

I'm building a 20v for boost. Realistically, should I bother flycutting my AE101 4agze pistons for the 5 valve head?

Gavin, if you can get away with it most certainly do NOT flycut your pistons. It disturbs flame propogation and will ultimately create slightly less HP.
It depends on cam duration, lift and timing. However as your running a boost application I doubt very much that you'll have to do anything about flycutting.
The answer is Helmholtz!

I was thinking along those lines. The gze pistons are ceramic coated also.

I will be using stock cams. If anything I may updrade to the highter lift blacktop intake cam.

So CAN I get away with it? Any horror stories out there?

wont need to do that, there is no clearance issues with the 4agze pistons.

bolt it on and away you go!
