rev counter wires

Postby Ae92typeX » Sun Apr 17, 2005 9:56 pm

As I was looking through my box of bits today I found an old sanpet rev counter & thought I might put it in the mini, however, ive lost the wire diagram, and when I took the back off, its got another cover over it all so I cant see which wires are for the bulbs/coil.
at a pinch, before I dismantle it I thought I'd see if anyone knows:
4 wire colours:
red, white, green, black.
Cheers :)

Either that or the green is for the light and the white is for the tacho.

I would agree with this.
The only other way I think it may be wired is swap the green and white.
You will not do any damage to it with those wires around the wrong way anyway, as long as you have the red and black correct.

My brothers 1340cc Targa Mini went to 7500 all day. He was getting 100hp at the wheels on the last dyno run he did. We never had any shortblock problems - only idler bearings in the end cover of the gearbox and he'd got a bit too enthusiastic with the die grinder in the head but Irontite fixed it for the duration of Targa. Got it welded after that.
See ya
