Car has no tacho, but want.

Postby MrBeef » Tue Apr 19, 2005 12:46 pm

hi there.

My car '92 corolla 1.6XL does not have a tachometer.

I want a tachometer.
I am wondering, will my car have the wires needed for the installation. And if they need to be installed where exactly does each wire goto etc etc.
Any last words?

You will be able to run one, from memory you'll need to run the tacho signal wire from the earth wire on the coil (there should be several places on the one terminal to use)

Easy as job, 4 wires for aftermarket tachos.

1 to the coil.
1 to earth.
1 to power.
1 to light source.

Will work fine on your car.

Just tap into the wire coming off the negative of the coil (usually negative, just check first).
