Close your eyes and mouth whilst undoing the fuel lines..... otherwise can be very unpleasant.

But seriously, make sure the engine has cooled down and undo the fuel lines VERY SLOWLY. There will be 40psi ish in the lines so it can be dangerous.

wear goggles or something aye.... its HORRID getting crap in your eyes while under there...

and you cant wipe it out, having fuel on your hands!

just take it slow, wear goggles, and make sure you put it back the way it was :).

Nope, the pressure is between the fuel pump and fuel rail. Taking the cap off the tank wont help.

Just undo the bolt on the filter slowly until the fuel starts dribbling out, then leave it for a while till the flow stops. Even once the gas stops dribbling out, take care.

You are supposed to relieve the pressure first!
Remove the main EFI relay/fuse and crank the engine for about 20 seconds, then the fuel will just dribble out instead of spraying like a kill bill extra.

Yea i know what ur saying....i was looking at it and its kinda tight down there but i'm sure i can get to it as long as i let the engine cool down and make sure the fuel dosn't shoot all over the place...but the advise i've had are cool cos now i know what to expect and my main concern was just the fuel going all over the place i didn't know what to expect....

sure man i'm going to do it this weekend...i've found that toyota themselves have been cheaper than repco etc for buying parts such as air filter, plugs, brake pads and also u get the geniune stuff but this time toyota are alot more expensive than brake and transmission instead if $60 from toyota u can pick one up from B&T for about $35 if that helps........

Hey all thanks for you the advise i replaced the filter and it went like a charm... 8) ..my advise is take ur time and have a rag on hand...i loosened the fuel line bolts (top and bottom)just enough to let out the pressure before removing it from the bracket and use the rag to stop fuel from going everywhere......other than that its pretty easy....
