Have you tried wedging a power bar on the ground, and flicking the starter motor for a second?

If you need an explaination of what to do just ask.

If you do try it make sure you take the cable of the coil, so the car can't start.

[EDIT]Ooops, took too long to type that  [/EDIT]

Yeah, bracing and a quick crank is about the best way if you cant get it moving at all

Then your next mission is getting the pulley itself off

If all else fails you can take the end plate off the gearbox bellhouse, and wedge a screw driver in the fly wheel ring gear.

Not the best idea but it can work.

when my engine was out of the car I made up a plate which bolts onto where the flywheel sits and rested it on the engine stand, worked a treat.

To remove mine I do this,

Put the car in gear and get someone to hold their foot on the brake. This stops the engine from turning so you can undo the nut.

I am no a fan of the power bar and starter motor method.
