sc14 onto 4agze - pulley size

Postby XSVWGN » Fri May 06, 2005 2:04 pm

Hey in im the midst of doing the conversion from sc12 to sc14 in my ae100 wagon. I have a few questions on this though...

1. What is a suitable pulley to use?standard?165mm?175mm?

2. Is there Anyone in the wellington region tht can help with the fabrication??

3. Aprox for my tine and effort what sorta gain is this going to give me?

1. You prob wont wanna go over 165mm as with the 175mm youll be maxing out your fuel system (as sc14 + 175mm pulley = about 18psi 8O )

3. Should give a very good gain, there a few people floating around on here that have done it. Youll have shit loads of torque thats for sure :D Might wanna consider an aftermarket ecu to get the full potential from it though.

yea i thought it would put it up to around 18psi...well thats good news. I will hit up evil si then and get a pulley custom made. Yea the aftermarket ecu would be all good but i dont have the money (thats why ist staying charged rather than turboing it)

a standard pulley should run arond 12psi which will be fine.

standard ecu is fine for 18psi, thats how I run my car with a nice big turbo :D.
All u need is to put an extra injector inline with the i/c piping just before the throttle body using a powerlink to control the injector. Or u could go to jaycar and get their new fuel controllers that are $100 and tune with a lap top.

Does anyone know anoyone actually getting 18psi from their sc14?

Recently I was playing with a couple of boost calculators for superchargers and it looked as if you would be getting more like 16psi from a sc14 running off a 175mm crank pulley.

Interested to hear what peoples experiences are

how much would you have to change the fuel set up to get it to cope ?

say someone did want to run the 175mm pully with the sc14, do you have to run an extra injector ?

or could you just replace the injectors with bigger ones or would you need that plus a bigger pump or more again ?

and also what about the air side of things, if this was for an afm model would you need a bigger afm ? could you just swap it for one of a bigger engine ?

need a bigger fuel pump.
If u replace the injector to bigger ones then you will need like a intercept link where it can implement the afm or map sensor.

Or you can add an extra injector with some kinda injector controller like a powerlink, if u dont wana pay that kinda $ then you could buy one from jaycar but u will need to fully program it and put together ur self.

hehe sorry i added to that last post i think while you were typing your reply,

as for the bigger fuel pump what would do the job a 2ltr or more grunty again ?

would something like a mr2 turbo or gt4 one do the job i think they are still in tank units arnt they ?
