Postby fat-boy » Mon May 16, 2005 11:40 pm

got a 4agze and i cant find the tacho signil wire to run to my tacho.
any help would be great.

also im lookin at puttin turbo onto thos motor
4ag-ze-te :D sounds gud to me
ive been told teh ze comp is suficint enuff but is recomendable to go link plus ecu.
im jsut lookin at runnin ct20 turbo and a frount mount
so it goes from the pod to the tubro then i/c then superchager then manifold.
wat sorta problem would i run into and wat sort for power would i gain from this ?

All sorts of problems :) you probably want to ditch the supercharger and just run the turbo, im sure eveyone will tell you that trying to run both the SC and the turbo is much more trouble than its worth.

Try a search for 4agte and stuff, there is quite a lot of info on here regarding this conversion.

i think you will need a tacho interface, connects to the coil wiring and gives you a tach output,

there was one on trade me,

as for turbo, get a manifold made, intake modified to suit rwd, the standard computer is good for 14psi,
a ct20 might be a bit small?
ive done a few ze turbo conversions, and they go damn well.

what model 4agze are u running? the boost level u can run with standard ecu's depends on which model you have.

Bugger the standard ECU if you're going twincharged. I've looked quite seriously at the option but it is a lot of money and fabrication work. Personally I wouldn't want to feed one charger into the other as it complicates things a fair bit more. You'll also need something to control the superchargers clutch which the standard ECu does quite well, not too sure how aftermarket ECUs go with that.

My advice would be just to go turbo, they go bloody well for what they are.

if its map sensed it will have a boost cut at 14.7, a lot different to leaning out,

hks did a twin charge kit, when it was retailed in nz it was around the 10k mark 8O , i only knew of 1 twin charged 4agze in nz, not even sure if its still round.

but you cant just slap a turbo on and blow thru the s/c as it wont handle it,

haha yeah well, even longer than that isnt it?

i know that jono from performance metalworks made up a setup a while back for a 3sgte, not sure what ever happened to it but to my knowledge it was never completed,
if you know jono or have seen his work it will make u think twice about how hard it is to do.
