Pole switch on centre console by handbreak - what does it do

its the middle one (between the mirror control and the coin holder thing)

here is a close up but the camera is crap and didnt focus very well.
the switch reads <l POLE l>


Basically i wanna know what this does ... i have switched it many times and it hasnt seemed to alter anything, or do anything at all

have you got a electric aerial? i think it can be used to put the aerial up and down without turning off you radio

Its a switch to raise a bumper mounted pole(like an aerial) so you know where the corner of the car is.Usually monted on the left front corner.

oh yeah mine has been taken out, also explains why there is a loose connector floating around down there
