Help. need a twin turbo manifold...

Postby twin_turbo_4age » Mon May 23, 2005 3:03 pm

I need someone to make me a 4age 20v twin turbo manifold for racing use. It needs to have twin t25/8 flanges and internal waste gates.

How much and prices???

What should i use. carburators or efi?
rich webber 45;s would be fine? or should i use a efi itb with anti-lag off idle?

a bit of expenation on why i need 2 turbos

Postby twin_turbo_4age » Mon May 23, 2005 3:08 pm

I am racing in the kiwi series next year. The car is a ae92 sedan with a silver top 4age.

Now problem been 4age not as powerful or race ready as vtec or mivec engines.

Engine needs approx 350-400hp to be anything near race competitive as thoose minis are quick.

Single turbo is ok but twins give better spool time and performance.

Don't waste your time on trying to get twin turbos working on such a small motor, single turbo is a much better option.

Yea i wouldnt bother with twin turbos, I would go for a single t3/4 turbonetics type etc with ball bearings thats rated to about 500hp.
stick a 20v head on with a clean up and cams, use the quad throttle bodies, get some nice manifolds made (I reccomend actiondan) use about 25psi+ and an aftermarket ecu and you will be near the 400hp mark easy. Guys in australia have been getting 350-400hp at th wheels with 20v heads and this turbo.

If you are spending enough money to twin turbo it,

why the hell would you even consider carbs??????

Why carb and twin turbo??

Postby twin_turbo_4age » Tue May 24, 2005 9:00 am

easy answer... RULES!!!!

class rules state cars are not allowed to be fuel injected (gt2/3/4). Must run carburation so i am picking ultra rich webber 45's for the set-up.

So how much for a twin turbo or a single turbo manifold???

single turbo manifold from actiondan is $440
If you want a split pulse single turbo manifold its a little dearer.

I have seen the kiwi sports sedans many times, and i know there are some very fast cars!

maybe you should look at buying a car.... going by the fact you need to buy a manifold as opposed to make one, tells me you will need to pay for everything on this car..... which will cost many many thousands if you want to do it right. and im not talking about $10-15k.......

but if you do go ahead..... i think you can get holleys that are made to go after a turbo/supercharger....

ACTUALLY NO

Postby twin_turbo_4age » Tue May 24, 2005 12:30 pm

I HAVE THE AE92 DOWN TO MINIUM WEIGHT, FITTED A ROLL CAGE AND 20V ENGINE (ENGINE CAME WITH NO ECU SO HENCE WHY CARBS SEEM A GOOD OPTION AND THE FACT THE 4AGE AINT VERY POWERFUL)

ITS GOT A STANDRAD SILVER TOP AE101 BOX WITH LSD.

SUSPENSION WAS MY TO MY SPEC BY LEDA IN THE UK AND I HAVE A RANGE OF SPRING RATES.

BRAKES ARE ALL UPGRADED, JUST NEED THE ENGINE SET-UP.

well after spending all that money it would be a waste to use a dodgy engine set up....

i say rebuild with 4agze pistons a motec and do it properly.....
or send head to kelfords, let them do the cams and (blacktop)head, fit blacktop pistons (or higher comp aftermarket), motec and go for 200hp
