Lost cause?

Postby bandit » Tue May 24, 2005 3:03 am

Just bought a 92 mr2 g-limited w/150k - got it for $2000 so i thought it was worth it as a get from a to b type car - but an STi it is not.

Is there anything i can do to make this car move (insult to injury - its an auto)? I could prolly spend about $2000 on it if i wanted to - but only if i'm getting a real kick - and remember i'm comparing kick to my ole STi.

Also i hear for $2000 adding a turbo isn't going to happen

any suggestions? or save my money?

Maybe if it wasnt Auto. :(

Or if you want to make it more FUN to drive, spend that $2000 on suspension/tires. When you dont have to slow down for corners, accelleration isnt so important. :)

Or if you were mechanically inclined enough to do it yourself, you could probably buy a crashed turbo Mr2 for $2000 or less. Use it as a donor car to swap the engine over. That way you would get the manual tranny too. :)

But you'd want the brakes, drive train etc from the wrecked MR2 as well. My advice would be to save your money. You said yourself its just an A to B car, so why do it up if its going to cost you more money?

Rather save your money and get yourself a 1994 - 1997 MR2 GT or GT-S ... THEN you'll feel the kick 8O
