since they run normal H4's
but meh, ive never dealt with st20x's but i do wish you luck.
Probably just a fuse / bulb problem

easily solved.
Nah - the 6th gen celicas don't use H4's (even though most websites, shops etc think they do). The 6th gen uses the 9005 bulb (also called HB3) and the 9006 bulb (also called HB4) - both single filament bulbs.
The two lights closest to the centre of the bumper are the main beams and use the 9005 bulbs and the outer ones are the low beams and use the 9006 bulbs (as well as W5W bulbs for the park lights). The factory fog/driving lights use H3 bulbs.
This site:
http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/ has pics. They also do free shipping to NZ - I got my nice white philips bluevisions from them since philips only likes to sell H1s, H3s, H4s and H7s in nz
Note: This info is correct for all 6th gen celicas sold up to approx 1998 - after which they were fitted with projector style lights and clear high beams. The bulbs for these lights are: H1 for Low Beam, 9005 for High Beam.
