Hey just wondering if anyone's done it, or know how hard it could be?
Changing a factory 2T-GEU car to a 3T-GTEU. i.e TA61 Carina.
What changes would have to be made?
Any thoughts or whatever!!
Cheers
Brakes, computer, ignition, exhaust, gearbox, driveshaft, diff and maybe radiator. Thats about it, if keeping the motor standard the diff won't need changing but winding up the boost will shorten its life quickly.
don't forget the 3tgteu have got a seperate knock control ecu thing.
I think the radiator have the same inlet outlet side.. but u might want a bigger one for the 3tgteu.
"AE25" on the forum have done it... maybe there is some wirte up on his website too.
Haha, nope, I ended up with a factory 3T Turbo TT142. Nice wee car, LSD etc, off a lady who had it ex japan (I know it sound's like they all say, but it was true!! ), but 3 wks after I got it, it got pinched never to be seen again!!
I'm back to K-series now for a while....much simpler!!
