Race tyre, tarmac competition tyre??

Postby crispy'86 » Sun Jul 17, 2005 11:31 pm

I got a tyre and it looks nowhere near a proper race tyre it's a Dunlop D93J SP Sport size 185/60/14. It looks very much like a street tyre and I need to see if i can get a matching one to make a pair of them. I'll post pics up soon of the tread pattern so people can see exactly what i mean.

Any help??

This tyre is typical of the wide range of 'Street Legal' tyres from Dunlop, incorporating reduced tread depth, high stability pattern, and race tyre construction and tread compound. Unique to this tyre is its extremely high performance level for wet conditions http://www.stuckey.com.au/images/tyres/Racing/dunlop_D93J.jpg

Deal direct with Dunlop they should be able to tell you if they are available if so you may be able to buy direct but it's usually cheaper to get your local beaurepaires or similar dunlop aganet to buy them in for youn & then buy from them. Same goes for the slicks they carry which is a limited range.

If no luck then yes both Stuckey's & Manson's tyre services in Australia can sell to you & ship them here as we've used then before but you'll more than likely have to pay Duty on them being a tyre & the fact tyres are made here. I think it's either 7 or 10% from memory been a while since I brought them in this way I normally bring them back in an empty suitcase or 2 from OZ.

We deal with beaurepaires through our work so i'll try them, if i can't match that up it looks like i may either have to sell it or try and get one from australia
