TRD Lowering Springs

Postby Steelo » Mon Jul 25, 2005 6:23 pm

Hey all,

I have just recently bought a '97 Trueno Bzr, and when the times comes to lower it I don't want to mess around. Hence why I am asking now :D

I wish to enquire about how much the TRD springs will lower my Superstrut Trueno.............??

How much will I be out of pocket for these springs?

Chur, Steelo.

Email (Don't PM, you'll make him angry... And you won't like him when he's angry....) Mr Revhead and he should be able to sort you out with a good deal ;)

Sounds reasonably good.........as I said I'm just looking around at this point.

What would you say the best and worst points of these springs are?

Would you recomend any other brand over the TRD ones?

cosmo, have you got health insurance?

the TRD springs actually have a very good ride.
in fact untill i turned a corner, i could hardly tell the difference between the stock ones and the TRD ones. they made a huge difference to cornering though!

some would say im biased, but i run them in my ae101 and will run them in my aw11, not even considering any other brand. the only other brand im prepared to back is whiteline.

...........Dammit, guess I will have to return those pink neons I just bought from the warehouse

Im guessing that these springs are betters than say.....super low kings or something similar, I have heard people say they give you a ride that can only be compared to a female Russian weight lifter

Kings tend to vary depending on what kind of car you have.

They will ride like you're de-sprung in one car, and make another ride and corner brilliantly.

I've had Kings in 5 or 6 cars so far, and they were pretty good in them all except my VR4, they tend to sag over time, which to me isn't a bad thing....

Seriously?

I thought you were ripping them off in a similar thread? saying they make your car handle in an unsafe way?

Or have I confused you with someone else?

ive got trd ones in my ae111 and lowered it about 25mm, which isnt supa low but its pratical for driving around town but also gives a good look,
handles really nice, harder of course but no bounce
been in a ae111 with king supa lows, felt like it was driving down a river bed, got a headache after 30min, but looked sweet as with the wheels in the under the guards
personal choice but i know itd get sick of bouncing all over the road really quick
oh also trd is pretty much the same price as kings or any other brand

Got me a new altezza, now arrived

I would be guessing this car was still running standard length shocks? Probably even the originals?

It is amazing what a good set of aftermarket shorter shocks will do to the ride quality with super-lows.

Kings for cordia's are a very nice spring, not very low though.

You don't need to lower a 101 or a 111 very much cos they are quite low from the factory, so the TRD springs are good.
