Heater on 4age

Postby NA Drifter » Wed Jul 27, 2005 11:24 pm

I wondering, if there many peoples have problem with their heater not hot/warm?
Seems like no heater in my AE86,.. even after taking out the A/C condensor alloy thing inside the car.

or is that common with 4age engine? I'm running everything factory heating stuff and got thermostat too. Checked the heater linkage valve on firewall, and seem to work fine.

Yeah, heater cores quite often get blocked.

Take the hoses off that go thru the fire wall and run a hose through them in both directions untill the water runs clear.

take ONE hose off, and flush it both ways, make sure the tap is to hot. if its blocked your best to flush the whole system. then fill with new coolant

If you take one hose off you have to use a lot of pressure to unblock it as you are pushing against the restriction in the heater and the restriction in the whole system.

That may put too much pressure on the heater if it's thats blocked and split the core.
You may have to use quite a bit of pressure. When I do thuis at work some have needed quite a bit.

Also you flush all the shit into the engine where it circulates around and back intgo the heater.

yer im having the same issues with mine, i dont think it's the heater core i think it might be the heat adjuster it'self, i found that mine is electrical controled when you slide the temp to the heat you wont its not making correct contact so its stuck on one heat...

if you back fluch 1st, it should dislodge it, by flushing it both ways untill it runs clear youll clear all the crap out

if its real blocked then yeah doing only the heater may be easier, but while your there ud be a fool not to do the lot, cause if there shit in the heater, therell be shit in the block
