what colour are your MAP sensor wires? (4age bluetop)

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Thu Aug 04, 2005 9:31 pm

just curious as to what coloured wires are on other peoples MAP sensors on a 4age bluetop, particularly an ae86.
reason i'm asking is on my ae86 loom the colours are: blue/red, light green/red, and brown but then on my MAP sensor the colours are yellow, pinkish/red, and then black. i cant see any reason why toyota would change the colours of the wiring from the loom to the sensor so im thinking ive got a wrong sensor for an ae86 loom.

i had the same problem with my distributor...i just had to swap a couple of wires around on the loom plug so they corresponded with the right pins on my dizzy plug...

cheers

The sensor off my Aw11 when it had the bluetop in it has 3 wires going into it from a round yellow plug. Colours are black, pink and yellow from left to right when mounted against the firewall. Looking into the plug, the single pin at the top is the yellow wire, the left pin is pink, the right pin is black. Part number is 89421-17010. Hope this helps.

Bluetop has been gone about 3 years now so can't remember!! Silvertop is AFM so doesn't need the MAP sensor. But yeah, I think it was different but it was the only place that the yellow plug would fit - might have been into a green one???
